Creating an alert

Turn a saved search into an alert so Pulse can keep watching for new results and deliver relevant updates through the platform, by email, or both.

Why create an alert?

A search shows you what matches your criteria now. An alert - sometimes called a Pip in Pulse - continues monitoring that search and lets you know when new matching information becomes available.

You can use alerts to:
  • Spot new opportunities: receive updates when something new matches your criteria.
  • Monitor companies or assets you already follow: keep track of your portfolio or other areas of interest without repeatedly checking the platform.
  • Stay informed: create a broader alert to follow developments across a commodity, geography, lifecycle stage or another area of the mining sector.

Before you start

Alerts are created from saved searches.

If you have not created and saved a search yet:

→ Read: Creating a search

Starting an alert

  1. Open the saved search you want to monitor.
  2. Click Create alert in the action bar at the bottom of the results page.
  3. If the search has not yet been saved, Pulse will ask you to name and save it first.

Choosing how updates are delivered

Choose one or both of the available delivery methods:

  • Platform feed: new matching results are added to your Pulse feed automatically.
  • Email Digest: matching results are sent to you by email.

If you select Email Digest, choose the delivery frequency:

  • Real-time
  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly

Depending on the frequency selected, you can also choose the relevant delivery time, time zone, day of the week or day of the month.

Choosing what the alert includes

Choose the publication kinds and topics you want the alert to monitor.

The available topics cover corporate, technical and regulatory developments, including areas such as:

  • drilling results;
  • mergers and acquisitions;
  • director dealings;
  • financial results;
  • ESG initiatives; and
  • project and regulatory milestones.

Narrow the selection to the topics that are most relevant to you, particularly when the underlying search contains a large number of companies or mining assets.

Use Reset to recommended to return to Pulse’s recommended topic selection.

Click Continue when you are ready.

Naming the alert and choosing recipients

  1. Enter a recognisable name for the alert.
  2. Add a custom email subject line if required.
  3. Choose who should receive it.

You can select:

  • individual users; or
  • an existing User Set.

Review the details and confirm the alert.

Once confirmed, the alert is active.

Managing an alert afterwards

You can edit, deactivate or delete an alert later through Searches & Alerts.
