Editing or deleting a search

Find everything you’ve saved - active, inactive, or still in draft - and update, reactivate, deactivate, or delete it from one place.

Why use this page

As you build more searches and alerts, the Manage searches and alerts page gives you one place to keep track of them.

You can see which searches are active, which have been deactivated, and which are still unfinished.

You can also review alert details such as frequency, delivery days, and delivery times without opening each search individually.

Getting there

  1. Click Searches & Alerts in the sidebar.
  2. Click Manage searches & alerts.

What you’ll find

The page is divided into three tabs:

  • Active Searches - saved searches that are currently active.
  • Inactive Searches - searches that have been deactivated but not deleted.
  • Draft Searches - unfinished searches that were autosaved before completion.

Each row shows the search name and type, such as Company Pip or Mining asset Pip.

Where an alert has been configured, the table also shows its:

  • frequency
  • delivery day or days
  • delivery time

A dash appears where no delivery setting applies.

Editing a search

To update the filters used by a search:

  1. Find the search in the relevant tab.
  2. Click the pencil icon on its row.
  3. Adjust the search filters as needed.
  4. Continue through the search flow to save your changes.

You can also open a search from the Searches & Alerts drawer by clicking its name under All search results, then select Edit Search from the action bar at the bottom of the results page.

Managing an alert

Where a search has an alert attached, use the alert icon on its row to review or change its settings.

Depending on the alert, you can update:

  • the topics included
  • the delivery frequency
  • delivery days and times
  • the alert or watchlist name
  • the email subject line
  • recipients

Deactivating or reactivating a search

To stop an active search without deleting it, click the deactivate icon on its row. The search moves to the Inactive Searches tab.

To make it active again, open Inactive Searches and click the activate icon.

Deactivating a search keeps its setup available, so you can return to it later.

Continuing a draft search

Pulse automatically saves unfinished searches as drafts.

To continue one:

  1. Open the Draft Searches tab.
  2. Find the draft by its autosave date and time.
  3. Click the pencil icon to reopen and continue editing it.

Drafts can also be activated, turned into alerts, or deleted using the available icons on the row.

Deleting a search

To permanently remove a search:

  1. Find it in the relevant tab.
  2. Click the bin icon on its row.
  3. Follow any on-screen confirmation prompt.

Deleting is different from deactivating. A deactivated search remains available under Inactive Searches, while a deleted search is removed.

Other actions

Using the icons at the top right of the page, you can also:

  • search within the list
  • adjust which columns are shown
  • export the table
