Navigating email digests

Get results from your alert delivered straight to your inbox on your chosen schedule, and understand what to expect if something appears to be missing.

Why this matters

When you create an alert, you can receive new results in real time or group them into a daily, weekly or monthly email digest.

Scheduled digests make it easier to stay informed without receiving an email every time a new result appears.

It is useful to understand how the delivery timing works, particularly when a document does not appear in the digest you expected.

Choosing your delivery schedule

When creating or modifying an alert, you can choose from:

  • Real-time: New results
  • Daily summary
  • Weekly summary
  • Monthly summary

For scheduled summaries, you can also choose:

  • Your timezone.
  • One or more delivery times.
  • The day or days of the week for a weekly summary.
  • The day or days of the month for a monthly summary.

For relevant alerts, you can also choose whether to Include weekends. When weekends are not included, weekend results are grouped and sent on Monday instead.

How digest timing works

A scheduled digest includes the results collected up to its delivery time.

A result published after that cut-off will not appear in the digest that has already been sent. It will remain available in your results on the platform and will be included automatically in your next scheduled digest.

Nothing is lost. It is simply carried forward to the next delivery.

If something appears to be missing

A document you expected may occasionally be absent from a digest because the original source published it after the email had already been generated.

For example, an announcement released by a stock exchange after your scheduled delivery time may not appear until your next digest.

You can still view the latest results on Pulse at any time. Open the relevant saved search from Searches & Alerts, then view its News & Documents tab.

Getting more from your digests

You may find it useful to:

  • Choose a later delivery time to capture more results published during the day.
  • Use real-time delivery for information that needs your immediate attention.
  • Use scheduled summaries for broader topics where one grouped update is more useful.
  • Create separate alerts with different schedules for different areas of interest.

Changing what appears in your emails

Your delivery schedule controls when an email arrives. Your Email Preferences control some of the information included in it.

To update these:

  1. Click Profile in the sidebar.
  2. Open the Email Preferences tab.
  3. Turn Company overview on or off.
  4. Turn Docx attachment on or off.
  5. Click Save changes.

Company overview controls whether company information such as market capitalisation, asset phases, commodities and locations appears in your emails.

Docx attachment controls whether a document attachment is included with the email.
