Managing your profile
Manage your personal details, account security, email preferences, and reusable Sets from one place.
Why check your profile
Your Profile area contains the settings that belong specifically to your account rather than your wider organisation.
This is where you can update your personal information, control how Pulse emails you, strengthen your account security, and manage the Sets you use to organise companies, mining assets, and categories.
Getting there
Click Profile at the bottom of the sidebar.
A menu opens with:
- Account Settings - your personal account and preferences.
- Organisation Settings - manage your organisation and its users.
The above option is only available to admin users.
- Help Centre - open Pulse support and guidance.
- Log Out - sign out of Pulse.
Click Account Settings to manage your profile.
Updating your personal details
The Profile tab is the first tab inside Account Settings.
Here you can update your:
- First name
- Surname
- Company name
- Time zone
- Language
- Profession
Click Save changes after making any updates.
Your email address and password can also be updated from this page using the pencil icons beside each field.
Further down, you can switch Dark Mode on or off.
At the bottom of the page you’ll also find Delete Account.
Deleting your account is permanent, so only use this if you no longer want your Pulse account or its associated data.
Managing your email preferences
Open the Email Preferences tab to choose what Pulse includes in your email updates.
You can currently control:
- Company overview - include or remove the company overview from your emails, including information such as market cap, asset phases, commodities, and locations.
- Docx attachment - choose whether a document attachment is included with your email.
Use the switches to turn each option on or off, then click Save changes.
Keeping your account secure
Open the Security tab to manage two-factor authentication and your backup codes.
If two-factor authentication hasn’t been set up yet, click Set up two-factor authentication to add an extra layer of protection to your account.
Backup codes give you another way to sign in if you lose access to your authentication device.
Each code can only be used once, and you can generate a new set using Regenerate.
Organising your work with Sets
The next three tabs let you create reusable groups of information you work with regularly.
Instead of repeatedly selecting the same companies, assets, or categories individually, you can save them as a Set and reuse that group elsewhere in Pulse.
There are three types:
Company Sets group companies you regularly want to work with together.
Mining Asset Sets group specific mining assets.
Category Sets group news and document categories around the topics that matter to you.
These can be particularly useful when creating and managing Pips, because you can work with a predefined group rather than rebuilding the same selection each time.
Managing a Set
Open the relevant Company Sets, Mining Asset Sets, or Category Sets tab.
Click Create new set to build a new group.
Existing Sets appear underneath and can be managed using the icons alongside them. Depending on the Set, you can:
- Duplicate it
- Edit it
- Delete it
Company Sets also have a Compare in benchmarking icon. Click this to take that group of companies into Compare & Benchmarking together.
Changes you make to Sets may also affect Searches that use them, so keep this in mind when editing an existing Set.
Subscription
The Subscription tab is where subscription management will live in Pulse.
This section is still being built, so subscription controls aren’t available yet.
Actions you can take
From Account Settings, you can:
- Update your personal details, email, or password.
- Switch Dark Mode on or off.
- Control what is included in your email updates.
- Set up two-factor authentication and manage backup codes.
- Create and manage Company, Mining Asset, and Category Sets.
