Comparing companies and assets

Line up the companies or assets you care about side by side, choose the fields that matter to you, and save the comparison to return to later.

Why use Compare & Benchmark?

Instead of pulling information company by company or asset by asset, Compare & Benchmark displays the selected records side by side against whichever metrics you choose from the available field library.

You can then save the comparison so that you do not need to rebuild it the next time you return.

Starting a comparison

  1. Click Compare & Benchmark in the sidebar under Tools.
  2. Choose whether you want to compare Companies or Assets. The flow is the same for both.
  3. On the selection window, either:
    • select a pre-saved Company Set or Asset Set; or
    • search for individual companies or assets in the Available list.
  4. Select an item by double clicking it or use the right arrow to move it into the Chosen list. To remove a selected item, either double click it again or use the left arrow to remove it.
  5. Click Remove all to clear the Chosen list, if needed.
  6. Once you are happy with your selection, click Compare.

Changing what you see

  • Click Fields in the top-right corner to open the field library.
  • Search for fields or browse the available categories, then select or deselect the fields you want displayed.
  • The number above the Fields button shows how many fields are currently selected.
  • Use Hide empty rows to remove fields where none of the selected companies or assets has available data.

Managing the comparison

  • Add another company or asset to the current comparison using the blue plus button at the end of the column headers.
  • Remove a company or asset by clicking the X in its column header.
  • Click the bookmark icon to save the comparison.
  • Enter a recognisable name and click Save comparable.
  • Saved comparisons appear under Previous comps in the Compare & Benchmark side panel.
  • Select a saved comparison to reopen it.
  • To delete a saved comparison, hover over its name and click the delete icon.
  • Click the download icon to export the comparison as a CSV.
  • Use the plus icon in the top-right toolbar to start a completely new comparison. This may discard unsaved work, so save first if you want to keep the current comparison.

Saved comparisons refresh using the latest available data each time they are opened. Export the comparison first if you need a point-in-time snapshot.
